Kristina Hammarström, Mezzo-soprano

Saturday 25 September at 10–16, the Singing Academy within Immanuel Church Music School arranges a Masterclass with Kristina Hammarström with baroque interpretation and music by Georg Friedrich Händel.

Ola Ottosson will be at the piano. The class is held in Waldenströmsalen, Immanuel Church. The day ends with a concert in the church hall at 18.00, free admission.

Mezzo-soprano Kristina Hammarström is regularly seen on world stages such as La Scala in Milan, the Vienna State Opera, the Théâtre de La Monnaie Brussels and the Opéra national de Paris.

The roles she has sung include Penelope in Monteverdi’s “II ritorno d’Ulisse”, Octavian in “Der Rosenkavalier”, Charlotte in “Werther”, Andronico in Handel’s “Tamerlano”. She has worked with conductors such as René Jacobs, Herbert Blomstedt, Alan Curtis, Christopher Hogwood and others.

Kristina performs at festivals and concert halls around the world as a soloist and has participated in several CD and DVD recordings, including Daniel in Handel’s Belshazzar from Aix-en Provence, Bradamante in Handel’s Alcina from the State Opera in Vienna, Idamante in Mozart’s “Idomeneo”, the title role in Handel’s “Giulio Cesare”, Medoro in “Orlando” and a solo CD with arias by Vivaldi.
