Immanuel Big Band

Immanuel Big Band (IBB) is a big band consisting primarily of amateur musicians, but with some who are professional musicians. The band is considered by many to be one of Stockholm’s finest amateur big bands.

The instrumentation includes five saxophones, four or five trumpets, four trombones, piano, guitar, and bass. The repertoire ranges from modern big band music specially composed for the band to classic big band arrangements.

Immanuel Big Band was formed in 2005 by flutist and saxophonist Lina Lövstrand. Over the years, the band has collaborated with artists such as Peter Asplund, Rigmor Gustafsson, Sharon Dyall, Margareta Bengtson, Andreas Johnson, Vincent Nilsson, Karl-Martin Almqvist, Vincent Herring (US), Victoria Glans, and many more. IBB performs both its own concerts with various collaborators and participates in church events, such as the annual Christmas concert. Occasionally, they are also hired for parties or dance events.
