3×11 at Immanuel Theme: Gang Violence

As a society, we face major challenges when it comes to gang violence. The media often paints a one-sided picture – and fear is widespread. But what happens if we take a deeper look?

Who ends up in gangs – and why?
What draws children and young people into violent environments?
And how can the church be a counterforce?

✨ Join us for an evening of perspectives on gang violence

Come just as you are – after class, work, or before putting the kids to bed.
Enjoy a meal, good company, and new thoughts to take home with you.
We’ll be serving soup, sandwiches, and something extra!

📆 3 September
🕡 Drop-in from 18:30
🎤 Program starts at 19:00 (in Swedish)

What is 3×11 at Immanuel?

3×11 is an evening to learn something new and share life together.
One theme – three perspectives – eleven minutes each.

We eat, listen to live music, and hear voices from three angles:

Luke 3:11
“Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.”

Each evening includes three dimensions:
📚 Knowledge
✝️ Faith
🤝 Community

Guest Speakers

👩‍⚕️ The Expert – Paulina Fröling

Psychologist at a SiS youth home in Stockholm.
Paulina meets young people with ties to criminal networks every day.
She shares what a “typical youth” might look like – and what it really means to be locked up in a secure facility.

🙏 The Theologian – Olle Jonasson

Prison chaplain and part of the Rastplats Söder community.
Olle reflects on gang culture, how serious violence becomes normalized – and how Christian faith might help us understand what’s happening.

🍲 The Community – Meal & Conversation

Sharing a meal and building strong relationships is a powerful form of resistance to violence.
We’ll talk around the tables and create a space of connection.

🕊️ Come listen, reflect, and be part of something meaningful.
