AFTER THE WARS

On Peace and Various Expressions of Christian Social Engagement

The evening at the culture café begins with a half-hour concert by musicians Monica and Carl-Axel Dominique. From their unique positions on the Swedish music scene, they have long reflected, shaped, and also challenged contemporary issues and social questions. After a coffee mingle, the panel discussion will begin.

Currently, there are 59 ongoing conflicts in the world, five of which are major wars where more than ten thousand people die each year. How have Christians acted in the past, based on their faith in peace and reconciliation—and how do we act today? Three Christians will discuss their personal choices in the church, political parties, and social movements: church leader Karin Wiborn, party secretary Jakob Olofsgård, and PhD candidate Elin Lundell. The discussion will be moderated by Erik Amnå, Professor Emeritus of Political Science.
