Welcome to three Wednesday evenings (all in Swedish) at Immanuel Church, where we highlight themes we consider important for our society and our democracy. With a general election taking place in Sweden this autumn, Immanuel Church wishes to draw particular attention to a number of areas, grounded in theology, facts and lived experience. <\/strong>We hope this will raise new questions and perspectives that may help us navigate the upcoming election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each evening, three guest speakers will explore the theme of the evening in 11 minutes each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday 22 April<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

3 x Democracy: The Fellow Human Being \u2013 When the World (and Our Values) Shift<\/strong>
As a congregation with more than 40 different nationalities, we value diversity \u2013 something that is increasingly being challenged in Swedish society today.
What does this mean for us?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Theologian:<\/strong> Christian M\u00f6lk<\/em>, Pastor, Pingst H\u00e4rn\u00f6sand<\/strong>
Christian M\u00f6lk is a pastor at the Pentecostal Church in H\u00e4rn\u00f6sand. He also serves as Chair of Pingst Integration and the Free Churches\u2019 Council for Faith and Trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expert:<\/strong> Erika Ershammar<\/em>, Lawyer, Sociala Missionen<\/strong>
Works with refugee counselling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience:<\/strong> Patrick Amofah<\/em>, Business Economist and Public Sector Manager<\/strong>
Patrick has extensive experience in leadership, integration and sustainability. With roots in Ghana and more than 20 years in Sweden, he brings perspectives on reception and the path towards an inclusive society.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday 29 April<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

3 x Democracy: Creation \u2013 Environment and Sustainability for God\u2019s Sake<\/strong><\/strong>
Immanuel Church is part of the \u201cGreen Church\u201d network, working towards a sustainable world for all. However, the conditions for this work have changed.
What do we do now?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Theologian:<\/strong> Petra Carlsson Redell, Professor of Theology at Stockholm School of Theology,<\/strong> Research Director of the Centre for Theology, Ecology and Culture (CTEC), and host of Av jord kommen<\/em>, a podcast on inner and outer transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expert:<\/strong> Sten Stenbeck<\/em>, Senior Project Manager, RISE<\/strong>
Sten Stenbeck works with project management and the development of international collaborations between industry, the public sector, academia and civil society. With more than 20 years of experience in climate issues and sustainable business development, he supports organisations in work related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience:<\/strong> Evelina Rosell<\/em>, Communications Officer, Diakonia<\/strong>
Evelina Rosell has worked for eight years at the development organisation Diakonia. She is responsible for communicating Diakonia\u2019s work through, among other things, social media and visits to congregations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday 6 May<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

3 x Democracy: Children & Young People \u2013 The Child Perspective as a Compass<\/strong>
An increasing number of children and young people are coming to church, and in a country where the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is law, everyone should be doing well. Yet as risk factors increase, protective factors need to be stronger.
What is needed now?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Theologian:<\/strong> Carin Dernulf<\/em>, Pastor and Senior Minister, Immanuel Church Stockholm<\/strong> Carin Dernulf is a pastor in the Uniting Church in Sweden and a behavioural scientist. For the past three years, she has served as Senior Minister at Immanuel Church in Stockholm. Prior to this, she was Secretary General of Equmenia, Sweden\u2019s largest Christian children\u2019s and youth organisation, for seven years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expert:<\/strong> Tomas Aronson Ylip\u00e4\u00e4<\/em>, Secretary-General, Unga \u00d6rnars Riksf\u00f6rbund<\/strong> Unga \u00d6rnars Riksf\u00f6rbund is an organisation working for children\u2019s rights and for a safe and equal childhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience:<\/strong> Sid Kellerth<\/strong><\/em> Sid Kellerth is 18 years old and a member of the board of Equmenia Immanuel. He studies at LBS Stockholm Norra, specialising in Aesthetics and Media. In his spare time, he enjoys writing poetry, spending time at church, and being with friends.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n
