Is it a story of crude colonialism or the expansion of the Kingdom of God? And what actually happens to the biblical text when it is translated?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Johanna Larsson\u2019s acclaimed debut poetry collection <em>Literal Faith<\/em> is freely based on the widely reported journey of missionary John Allen Chau to North Sentinel Island in 2018, where, after only a few attempts to make contact with the isolated people, he was shot and killed on the beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using Chau\u2019s story as a point of departure, Johanna Larsson \u2013 who herself travelled abroad on her first and only missionary trip at the age of sixteen \u2013 explores translation, mission and devotion.
