Talks in Immanuel with Philip de Croy.

24 October, 2023 kl. 18:30 - 20:00

How did we lose “death” – and do we want it back?

In Sweden, we sing about death in the national anthem, but often lack a language when it comes to death. In this evening’s talk, Philip de Croy takes us through history, from past proximity to death to present-day distance and inability. When did we actually lose death, what happens when it intrudes through war, pandemics and personal loss and how can we become more alive by talking more about death?

Presentation of the author

Philip de Croy is a doctoral student in theology and Sweden’s only thanatologist (death scientist) who is also part of the editorial staff of the Newspaper Sändaren.

We offer coffee and tea from 18.00.

Free entrance!

The lecture will be held in Swedish.
