Lazy, carefree summer days are wonderful but please rest assured that Immanuelskyrkan takes no break in serving as a community. Every Wednesday throughout the holiday season we offer the possibility to meet up and stay connected with the people we know and maybe some new ones. Below you’ll find this summer’s activities – we hope there’s something for everyone.
Unless otherwise stated, the events will be held in Swedish. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
18 June – Midsummer Lunch
We start our summer gatherings with a traditional pickled herring lunch – something to suit every taste – and eat together. Our congregation leader Carin Dernulf will be with us, and we’ll talk about how our church can include children and young people.
Sign up by Friday 13 June: ulrika.grevin@immanuelskyrkan.se or tel. 08-587 503 20.
Venue: Kyrktorget, Immanuelskyrkan, 12:00–14:00.
25 June – Music and Mazarins
We’ll enjoy a bouquet of summer songs performed by Stefan Sjöblom on vocals and guitar. Naturally, we’ll also serve coffee and pastries.
Venue: Kyrktorget, Immanuelskyrkan, 14:00–15:30.
2 July – Tech and Tiger Cake
Do today’s mobiles and computers feel like a challenge? Marcus, our church technician, visits today to talk about current tech and helpful tools. Once we’ve learned something new, we’ll enjoy some refreshments!
Venue: Kyrktorget, Immanuelskyrkan, 14:00–15:30.
9 July – Poetry and Dreams
We’ll listen to poetry and music while enjoying coffee together.
Venue: Kyrktorget, Immanuelskyrkan, 14:00–15:30.
16 July – Museum Visit and Cosy Coffee
We’re visiting the Stockholm City Museum at Ryssgården/Slussenplan, where the exhibitions take us on a journey through 500 years of Stockholm’s history.
Meeting point: Outside the museum entrance at 14:00.
We’ll walk through the exhibitions together (without a guide). Exhibits are also available in English. The church treats everyone to coffee in the museum café.
Free admission.

23 July – Jam Cookies and Sweet Treat History
Pastor Anna Berndes loves to bake – and she’s also curious about the history behind different pastries. She’ll share what she’s learned as we gather around the coffee tables.
Venue: Kyrktorget, Immanuelskyrkan, 14:00–15:30.
30 July – Accordion and Dumle Biscuits
Isn’t it wonderful to sing together? This Wednesday, Åsa Bosdotter leads us in singing. Of course, there will be coffee and treats too.
Venue: Kyrktorget, Immanuelskyrkan, 14:00–15:30.
6 August – Prayer House Memories and Blueberry Pie
Eric Björklund shares and reflects on memories from prayer houses.
Venue: Löjtnantshuset, 14:00–15:30.
Address: Löjtnantsgatan 8. Meeting point: Cafeteria, entrance floor.
Contact: Deacon Margret Josefsson, tel. 08-587 503 24.
13 August – Short Pilgrimage Walk
To go on a pilgrimage has historically meant walking toward a sacred goal. Today’s walk invites us to draw closer to ourselves and the path God has set before us. A portion of the walk will be in silence. The walk can also be offered in English if needed.
Please note the time: 09:30–approx. 14:00.
We’ll walk forest trails in Lill-Jansskogen at a calm pace adapted to the group. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended. Walking poles are optional. Dress for the weather and bring a backpack with water and lunch.
Meeting and end point: Gate at Löjtnantsgatan 8.
In case of persistent rain, the walk will be cancelled. No registration required.
Contact: Deacon assistant Ulrika Grevin, tel. 08-587 503 20.
