What does the concept of peace really mean? What does the Bible say about peace? Why do we distinguish between peace and inner tranquility? And how can we contribute to global peace?
Welcome December 4th to an evening at Immanuelskyrkan, where we’ll explore various perspectives on peace. Come as you are after exams, work, or before the bedtime routine. Enjoy a night of fellowship, reflection, and leave with new insights! Soup, sandwiches, and something extra will be served. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the program starts at 6:30 p.m. The program is held in Swedish.
What is 3×11 at Immanuel?
3×11 is an evening of learning and fellowship. One theme, three perspectives, each for eleven minutes. Every session, we share a meal and enjoy live music together. Inspired by Luke 3:11, “Whoever has two shirts must share with the one who has none, and whoever has food must do the same.” 3×11 always brings three perspectives—knowledge, faith, and community—on one theme.
The Expert:
Lotta Sjöström Becker, Secretary General of the Christian Peace Movement, has extensive experience in human rights and peace work. Lotta will discuss the concept of peace, provide a global perspective, and share ways to be a light in the darkness.
The Theologian:
Karin Wiborn, theologian and leader within Equmeniakyrkan, will speak on what the Bible teaches about peace, the difference between peace and inner tranquility, and the role Christians play in the peace movement.
Community:
As we’re now in the Advent season, we’ll add a special holiday touch to this 3×11 gathering with choir performances to bring out the Christmas spirit!
