Pastor to Immanuel Church

Are you a person who is passionate about seeing people find faith and hope? Would you like to make a difference in the city of Stockholm? Would you like to work in a church that reaches out to thousands of people every week – a church that has resources to invest in reaching out to even more?

We are looking for a pastor to join our team. The post will have two aspects:

  • Firstly, you will work as an associate pastor in our international (English speaking) fellowship group working with the lead pastor.
  • Secondly, you will work with youth and young adults within the wider church.

You have a Christian faith that sustains you, you are a committed, positive, and creative person who enjoys preaching. You are particularly passionate about working with youth and enabling them to take their place on their own terms. You will have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of young people. You will work with all kind of pastoral responsibilities.

We believe that the right person has previous experience working with confirmation work and other activities focused on youth.

You are an ordained pastor, preferably within the Uniting Church in Sweden (Equmeniakyrkan). You have a strong commitment to society and knowledge of current issues affecting young people in Sweden and their lives. You are confident in who you are. You need to be able to express yourself fluently in both English and Swedish.

In Immanuelskyrkan’s vision, everyone is welcome to attend and share in church life and we talk about spreading the gospel not just with words but with practical care and service.
Read our vision.

We offer you an interesting and ever-changing  job where no day is the same as another. Here you will encounter many exciting challenges and be part of a collegial community. You will also work together with many committed volunteers.

We strive for the congregation’s activities to be characterised by equality and diversity, and we welcome all applicants regardless of age, gender, and other backgrounds. We see it as a positive if you have previous experience working in intercultural settings.

We will place great emphasis on your personal suitability.

In our recruitment process, we conduct a background check on our final candidate before offering employment. The position is a permanent, full-time position that begins with a probationary period.

The job would begin on 15/8 or near that time by agreement.
