Music has always been an important part of our church, and we want to build on that foundation. We are looking to fill a position as a church musician on a permanent basis.
About the job
In this role, you will lead ensembles, choirs, and soloists. This includes both temporary groups with rehearsals and single performances, as well as more established groups. You will also participate in worship services and concerts. The position operates with trust-based working hours, which include daytime, evenings, and weekends.
Who are you?
We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and enthusiastic musical leader. You are comfortable working with various genres, but you probably feel most at home within classical music. You have the skills to perform as a classical vocal soloist and play both piano and organ in worship services, concerts, and ceremonies. A degree in music is required, and having a cantor’s diploma is highly desirable.
Experience in writing arrangements or composing new music is a strong asset. While creativity and innovation in music are important, we also expect you to have a solid knowledge of repertoire, particularly in the areas of classical and contemporary church music.
The administrative aspects of the role require proficiency and speed in digital tools. You should have excellent collaboration skills and be well-organized, with the ability to handle detailed information for calendars, concert programs, and similar tasks.
Due to Immanuelskyrkan’s international profile, proficiency in both Swedish and English is required.
You are a person with a Christian faith who supports Immanuelskyrkan’s vision.
We offer
You will have a varied and meaningful job. Here, you will encounter a dynamic environment with exciting challenges and be part of a collegial team. You will also collaborate with many dedicated volunteers and elected representatives.
We strive for equality and diversity to characterize the work of the congregation and welcome applicants of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.
