As a facility assistance with us, you play a crucial role in assisting people and ensuring that our facilities function optimally for church members, visitors, elected representatives, and employees. Together with your colleagues, you will also serve during worship services, funerals, baptisms, and weddings.
About the Job
This hourly position involves covering for absences due to illness or providing additional support during times of larger tasks. Responsibilities may include setting up a stage for concerts, rearranging furniture, or other practical tasks in the church facilities. While the workload varies, we typically need reinforcement 1–2 times per week. Shifts may be in the mornings (starting at 8:00 AM), evenings (until 10:00 PM), and weekends.
You will handle a variety of tasks, including:
- Preparing spaces for events
- Managing sound systems and other technical equipment
- Handling maintenance requests
- Handle post and deliveries
- Production of printed materials
Throughout your work, providing excellent service, maintaining safety, and offering a welcoming attitude are essential. Heavy lifting is involved. You will be part of the Property and Service department, led by a Director of Service. In addition to church caretaker colleagues, the team includes IT and a Food Service and Event Coordinator.
Who Are You?
We are looking for a social and positive person with excellent problem-solving skills. You should be practical, service-oriented, and proactive, ensuring our operations run smoothly.
You have a strong physical capability, an ability to work both independently and in a team. You are good at understanding technical equipment and a quick learner. You need proficiency in both Swedish and English. You have good understanding of IT and pick up technical issues quickly. Prior experience with security matters is highly advantageous.
A driver’s license is advantageous too, but not required. We highly value personal suitability and alignment with our values (learn more at www.immanuel.se). Experience working in a Christian organization is a plus.
Since this is an hourly position, it’s ideal if you have another main occupation—perhaps you’re studying, freelancing, or running your own business and have time to work with us occasionally.
We conduct background checks on final candidates. Our recruitment process values equality and diversity, welcoming applicants regardless of age, gender, or background.
