Report from the Board 21 April 2022

The meeting began as usual with a theological reflection where our Interim Senior Pastor Claes-Göran Ydrefors shared an article about discipleship and evangelism. He mentioned that as a Christian you do not have to deliver all the answers but can come with your questions, invite others to walk with you on the journey of discovery that you yourself make around the mystery of faith.

During the meeting, we made a follow-up to the Congregational meeting on March 27th. Not least the reactions that came mainly from the international fellowship around the document that the Chairman and the Interim Senior Pastor distributed concerning the outputs and values that form the basis of our church.

At the meeting, the board decided to review our needs for premises, especially regarding the lack of premises for children and young people that the Congregation is facing.

The board also decided to donate SEK 100,000 to the Equmenia Church’s disaster fund, where the majority of the amount comes from the sale of a coin collection that the Congregation has owned for a long time.

The Communications and Fundraising Committee reported on the worrying situation regarding the offering in the Congregation, which is strongly lagging behind this year. The offering is lower than it has been since 2016. The committee believes that times of unrest and the pandemic are the major reasons for this low offering. It is important to make efforts to mitigate this situation and the committee will come up with a proposal for a decision on measures to be taken at its meeting in May.

As this meeting was the last before the annual meeting, the board evaluated its working methods. A formal rules of procedure were also established for the Board’s continued work.
